The route runs primarily on dual-lane toll highways. Expect heavy traffic near Milan during morning and evening rush hours (07:30–09:30 and 17:00–19:30) on weekdays, and substantial holiday congestion along the Gulf of Saint-Tropez coastal roads (D98A) during the summer season.

The Public Transport Route (rail and road, no station in Saint-Tropez)

Saint-Tropez does not have a railway station. Reaching the town via public transit requires a multi-leg journey:

1. Milano Centrale → Ventimiglia — by Trenitalia InterCity train, taking roughly 4 hours.
2. Ventimiglia → Saint-Raphaël-Valescourt — by French regional TER or TGV trains, taking roughly 1.5 to 2 hours.
3. Saint-Raphaël → Saint-Tropez — by regional bus (Zou! Ligne 876) or a coastal shuttle ferry (Les Bateaux Verts), taking another 1.5 hours.

Total travel time is 7.5 to 9 hours depending on transfer connections. Carrying luggage between trains, buses, and ferries makes this option highly exhausting, especially for families and late-night arrivals who have no transport services past 18:30.
